Well, I’ve eventually bit the bullet and treated myself to the new running tool that I’ve been promising myself for the last few months. The Garmin Forerunner 305, which is certainly the biggest watch in the world but hey, if it helps me to get a better time doing the Edinburgh Marathon this year then I’ll be happy with the cost. I’m going to be using it tonight on my fist day at the gym for many month. I’ll let you know how I get on with it. 🙂
Joined the gym on Saturday, got my kit with me tonight. I’ve not been running since August last year so it’s going to be messy, I’m still contemplating what running training schedule from my book “The Competitive Runners Handbook“. I think I’ll take it easy tonight and try and gauge my fitness lever before I commit to either the “Novice and Intermediate Competitors” or the “Basic Competitors 16 week Training Schedule”.
I’ll add some comments about the Garmin Forerunner 305 when I’ve used it enough to have an opinion on it. In the meantime, here’s a nice cheesie Soft Rock Video extolling the virtues of Garmin, enjoy! 😉
Just updated my the version of wordpress, took me about 40 minutes using the instuctions provided by the wordpress community here. I’m now using version WordPress Version 2.1 “Ella” with no problems. My initial impression of it are damn good. I love the ability to spell check, for me that is the one thing that wordpress has been missing for a long time. The only downside is that the Viper Video Quicktags pluging seems to be slightly broken, I’ve visited the authors website and he suggests the following. I think I’ll just leave it enabled and installl version 4.0 of his plugin when its released (is out of beta). I can always follow his advice if I need to write a blog with a video tag 🙂
I also love the autosave thing, there’s been many occasions that I’ve lost posts due to a flakey network or computer. Hopefully this might encourage me blog a bit more often 🙂
Took me a while to get round to taking the exam, well got married last year and had a lot of things to arrange 🙂 that and I was at the gym or on the road training for the Edinburgh Marathon. But hey, it’s done now.
I was having a look at some of my pervious entries and noticed that I started this particular MCP at this time. I’m really going to have to get the last one out of the way sooner rather than later. I’m planning to get MCSE – Messaging Certified, then maybe move onto Sun Solaris 10 which is looking to be a lot more interesting to me at the moment, having spent far too much time on Microsoft products. I might get the change to do some programming, something I used to really enjoy when I was at Uni many years ago 😉
I seen this one and just had to add it to my blog, damn funny and clever lyrics. I laffed for sure. To anyone who knows me, I hope you had a merry Christmas and hope that new year is a good one for you.
