Configuring a static IP address on Lucid Lynx

I didn’t know this, but seemingly you have to remove the network manager before you set up a static Ethernet IP on Lucid Lynx.

Remove Network Manager.

sudo apt-get remove network-manager

Then follow the instructions here.
